Edward Tufte + Avalon

It's my belief that the big deal with Avalon is that it gives us much more powerful tools to deal with data visualization and manipulation. Towards that end, Ward turned me onto Edward Tufte at lunch today and I've got "Envisioning Information" on it's way to my house as we speak.

Wow! I am surprised that you haven't heard of him by now. Not to be mean or anything just surprised. I have really enjoyed all three of his books and I understand he has a forth coming out. The book you have choosen is IMHO his best book to be introduced on. Enjoy!

Oh, man, the list of stuff that I don't know is infinite and seems to be glowing larger as time goes on. How does that happen? : )

Chris,

I've got a score of Tufte style projects slated for Longhorn. Here's a link to the list: http://dotnetjunkies.com/WebLog/metablog/archive/2004/04/29/12438.aspx
