I'm With Jim: X1 Rocks
Like everyone else in the blogespher, I installed Google Desktop Search last week. And, after using it a few times, I've uninstalled it.
Jim's right;
X1 kicks its butt.

With Jim and you about the Google. but i found out the X1 isn't support non-english as terms to searc (in my case Hebrew). also there is a problem with the viewer. but in general it looks like a great product.
In This Case:
Does free make the Google product doog enough?
Davide Mauri:
I think that Coperinc is even better. It is free, fast, configurable and good-looking:

and also search into documents (word, excel, ppt, pdf, and so on)
I dropped Lookout if favour of this software, and i think that still the best for now.

I think I'm with "In This Case" - X1 costs more than free, which is all that I'm about to pay for something I use maybe once a month, if at all.
Chris Sells:
Once a month?!? I must use X1 once an hour!
jvismara:
and X1 is spyware ready
Mike Kingscott:
Dang! Just installed it, and I'm impressed... However, thanks for the pointers to the other apps.
Kind regards,

The Google's methods remain more flexibility. I can write the customized UI code through the URL of desktop search engine. More intensive and favorite UI may be possible by your own codes.
Is URL method not great??
