Lars Corneliussen has a fun post entitled Microsoft "Oslo" MGraph - the next XML? He concludes by comparing JSON, XML and MGraph to represent the same data:
- JSON: 661 characters
- XML: 1065 characters
- MGraph: 590 characters

It looks like MGraph is just JSON minus the quotes around identifiers, no?
So the only savings was dropping those quotes.
If the quotes is really the only difference, one could wonder if it was worthwhile to invent yet another mechanism rather than just using JSON.
