IanG Interview on ServerSide.NET

See IanG, my Avalon book co-author in crime, talk with Ted Neward about WinForms, Avalon and .NET. Nicely done.

Great video, well worth the 45 minutes of watching. Some stuff was a little old though ("will MS update IE?"), but overall lots of good information. Ian knows his stuff.

I'm reviewing Ian and Chris' Avalon beta book and I can honestly say that, like Chris, Ian's enthusiasm and knowledge are articulated very well. Ian's work on the graphics bits in particular shows his experience, and is fun to read.

There appears to be a lot of discussion about how verbose Ian is but, like his blog entries, the material I've seen is aimed just at the right level and interesting so, whether there are too many words or not (like this sentence), I don't really notice.

Honestly, I've never been a major fan of beta books, but this one is definitely one I would recommend when it comes out.

It's the rare author that can be brief and cover the bits that are interesting to me. Personally, I'm not able to do the former, but I work hard at the latter.
