Best Exam Answer Ever

This is how you tell the marketing guys from the engineers... : )

Chris Sells , Friday, November 11, 2005 1:54 PM

This is why I would never make a good teacher... I would give full credit to such a creative answer.

(After all, OCR is a far mor difficult problem than pythagorus. Maybe bonus points are in order?)

, Sunday, November 13, 2005 10:18 PM

the question is "Find x" ... well, the person found it.

Anan(r), Monday, November 14, 2005 7:02 AM

Actually, a marketing wonk would have replied something like "Finding x is not enough. With appropropriate branding and advertising cash flows derived from and through a partner network, we can ensure that people will simply have to have x for their lives to make sense and to fulfill their inner-most desires. Instead of "Finding x" they'll be "Finding X!"

BillB, Monday, November 14, 2005 1:40 PM

This is the exact answer to the question - smart.

Chris, Friday, November 18, 2005 3:24 AM

2 2 2
(x) = (3) + (4)

that all

I actually wonder if this could be complained about with the school board. This student clearly give the correct answer to the question. The fact that the question was badly worded is a completely different thing, but that's not the student's fault.

Stefan, Friday, January 06, 2006 7:34 AM

The joke is purposely crafted for our amusement. The question should be "Find the value of x?" or the student must be intuatively understand the question.
